BROCKTON, MASS. — The Brockton High School Class of 1976 will celebrate its 50th Class Reunion on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the historic Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton, Massachusetts.
The reunion will bring together classmates from across the country to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate a remarkable era in Brockton High School history. The event will recognize the school’s outstanding athletic achievements during the years the Class of 1976 attended BHS.
During the Class of 1976’s sophomore, junior, and senior years, Brockton High School earned the prestigious Dalton Award for three consecutive years, recognizing one of the most successful and comprehensive athletic programs in Massachusetts. The achievement reflected excellence across numerous sports and showcased the talent, dedication, and school spirit that defined the Brockton High community during the mid-1970s. As part of the evening’s festivities, those who contributed to championship seasons and Dalton Award-winning programs will be invited to stand and be acknowledged by their classmates.
The Class of 1976 was fortunate to experience one of the most successful periods in Brockton High School athletic history,” said reunion organizers. “We want to celebrate not only our individual accomplishments, but also the teamwork, pride, and community spirit that made Brockton High such a special place.”
The reunion committee is encouraging former athletes and classmates to help identify members of championship teams from the 1973-74, 1974-75, and 1975-76 school years. Historical photographs, team rosters, newspaper clippings, and memories are also being collected for display at the event and on reunion social media platforms.
Notable Alums. While the reunion will celebrate the athletic achievements that distinguished the Brockton High School Class of 1976, the event is intended to recognize and reconnect the entire class. The reunion committee will look to also recognize the successes of notable graduates including former BHS Jazz Band member - Dr. Eric Rubin, Editor-in-Chief of the New England Journal of Medicine, microbiologist, and infectious disease specialist.
Help. The reunion committee needs help identifying others and is calling upon members of the more than 35 student clubs and organizations active at Brockton High School during the 1973-1976 period—including student government, publications, music, drama, service organizations, academic societies, and special-interest clubs—to help locate classmates, share photographs and memorabilia, and reconnect fellow graduates with reunion activities.
Organizers hope this school-wide outreach effort will ensure that as many members of the Class of 1976 as possible are informed about the reunion and have the opportunity to participate in this milestone 50th Reunion celebration.
Club Members. "We invite members of every club, activity, and organization to help us reconnect with classmates and celebrate the many contributions that made the Class of 1976 such a special and memorable class in Brockton High School history, and also their accomplishments after graduation. In a graduating class of over 1,200 students, there are many unknown and untold stories of graduates around the country with Brockton roots and experiences that helped shaped who they are today. " said reunion organizers.
